Why Do We Need God?

(Assalam-u-Alaikum)

My Sisters and brothers in Islam,

            God is there for a reason and so are we. He made/created us and put us on earth to serve one purpose; to love, serve, pray and worship Him. Okay, maybe that’s not one purpose in your eyes, but in my eyes it all adds up to one thing. I can’t find a word for it but that doesn’t really matter.

            Fellow human beings, without God in every one of our thoughts, words and deeds you are to be punished by the simple thing as not adding salt to the shrimp for the wantons and cooking it, but yet still it tastes good because the other ingredients have salt already. That may sound stupid but it happened to me.

            We also need God…oh and before you mistake my example just now, you’ll be punished if not in this life, but in the hereafter. Yes, where was I? Aha! We also need God in every other thing that we do. Pray to Him for health, happiness (even in poverty) and for forgiveness. God is merciful but that does not mean to say that you sin constantly and beg for forgiveness and when forgiven you go and sin again! NO! It is not acceptable…

            You should know that when words fail, pray for the right words; but you will only get them when you pray the amount of times you have to and the Almighty may even give you the best words to say if you pray more often that is required.

            So my point, that I hope I made, is to always keep God in mind and in heart and do your duty towards Him and you will be happy.
