| There is great merit in fasting! Fasting increases our willpower. It drills and trains our will to avoid desires and to keep away from sinful acts. It also helps us to understand how the poor feel, by means of personal experience (hunger and deprivation). It can be quoted in Al Qur'an:- |

| *Al-Muttaqun - the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism who fear Allah much (abstain form all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained). |
